Winterton-on-Sea in the north to Hopton-on-Sea in the south. It's all part of a
great coastline offering an attractive blend of wide sandy beaches, sand dunes
and cliffs - all in all, the toast of the Norfolk Coast. Great Yarmouth is divided from its near neighbour Gorleston-on-Sea by Breydon Water, which is an access point to the Norfolk Broads, which is the network of inland waterways that goes all the way to Norwich. The other sea access point is at Lowestoft to the south.
The resort is also blessed with two piers both built by the Victorians in the mid-nineteenth century. Both piers provide family entertainment at a reasonable price. Gorleston-on-Sea is arguably East Anglia's 'best kept secret'. The beach is a firm favourite with the local population whilst the visitors who discover this Greater Yarmouth 'gem' have also discovered not only an excellent range of hotels, guest houses and self-catering holiday flats but also an excellent touring base for both Norfolk and Suffolk.
