Blackpool - Lytham St Anne's Coast Guide Blackpool is officially the UK's busiest resort which attracts thousands of happy holidaymakers year after year to its long sandy beaches and world class entertainments. With its trademark tower and huge roller coasters and miles of amusements this is a resort that has to be experienced first hand to appreciate it. You won't be disappointed.
This is the realm of Kiss-me-Quick hats, rock shops, fish and chips and donkey rides but that is what the visitors want and what they expect and Blackpool delivers all of this and more. It is the nearest you can get to Las Vegas in the UK and that may well be enhanced with the arrival in the near future of some new style super-Casinos. Dominating Blackpool Promenade is the 518-foot Blackpool Tower which houses a magnificent ballroom, an Aquarium, and an undercover playground. Equally impressive is the towering structure of the Pepsi Max roller coaster further along the prom. This is Europe's biggest and fastest ride and looks to be well worth the fare - if you've got the nerve! Blackpool Pleasure Beach which is home to this huge roller coaster has a further 140 odd rides to entertain you - you won't run out of things to do.
The town puts on a stunning display of lights as the nights draw in - with miles and miles of illuminations which are really spectacular. These will run from 2 September to 6 November in 2005. Lytham St. Anne's In contrast to the major resort of Blackpool just along the coast is Lytham St Anne's, here you can enjoy peaceful parks, beautiful gardens and admire the old half-timbered buildings. Lytham is a traditional seaside resort but of a different nature to its busy neighbour. Here you will find a fine promenade, a pier and a lovely sandy beach to enjoy. Lytham St. Anne's also has four excellent golf courses, including the world famous Royal Lytham.
