Linconshire Coast Lincolnshire is a large county on the east coast of Britain which stretches from The Wash in the south almost to the mouth of the River Humber in the north. Here it meets up with North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire two Unitary authorities which border the River Humber. Lincolnshire has a population of around 1 million people and the county town is Lincoln in the west of the county. The county is very rural in nature and predominately flat - it is renown for the production of potatoes which a grown widely across the county. The coastline is mostly low lying with long stretches of sand and shingle beaches which extend up to the Humber estuary - there are several notable wet land areas along the coast. The main seaside resorts are Skegness which is a traditional British resort and Mapplethorpe which is more of a village in a natural setting.
