He bought a large area of land and developed it for that purpose. Development of the resort has continued through the years and it achieved its royal accolade - Regis - in 1929 when George V popped down for a few days. Today there are many attractions for the tourist and plenty to keep children amused as well. The beach is sandy, clean and long so space is not a problem. There is an attractive pier as well to keep you amused. Local fishermen still operate from the beach and fresh fish is sometimes available fro the boats.
